About This Fundraiser
$5 from every CoatHook sale made from this page goes to support the work of Bertie County Humane Society in North Carolina.
In Bertie County, the state’s largest county, an overwhelming number of dogs and cats become homeless because they are either surrendered to a shelter by or have strayed from their owners.
Homeless cats go to BCHS’s own private no-kill shelter, but dogs go to a shelter run by Bertie County Animal Control which, by county policy, does euthanize dogs when the shelter exceeds capacity.
BCHS works hard for these animals to provide medical care, keep them as comfortable and happy as possible, and find good homes for them, with an extra sense of urgency for getting dogs out of the county shelter as quickly and safely as possible.
This very small organization has only a handful of volunteers who rely mainly on private donations to cover the costs of food, veterinary care, surgical sterilization, and supplies for maintaining shelter operations.
We are thrilled with every opportunity we have through revenue from CoatHook sales to send financial support their way. We hope you’ll join us in supporting the BCHS.
About This Product
The CoatHook gathers and removes shedding undercoat fur from cats, dogs, and rabbits without pulling or cutting the outer layers of fur, the way some pet combs do.
The CoatHook’s long tines reach through the outer layer of fur, and the small hooks at the ends of the tines gently but very effectively gather and remove downy shedding undercoat fur.
A series of graduated hooks along the top of the tines can be used to gently tease out tangled fur.
The CoatHook works really well on dogs that have coats that shed, such as Labs, Collies, Shepherds, and mixed breeds, as well as medium-long to long-haired cats.
